Japanese Sweets

The 100 years Japanese traditional architecture guesthouse “HARUYA” proposes “Making Japanese sweets” based on the history of Kyoto. In the oldest Japanese Geisha district in Japan, called ‘Kamishichiken’ at a nationwide famous well-known Japanese confectionery shop, we can have a lecture directly from a Japanese sweet craftworker, and can enjoy it with Matcha, green tea.

We can take a meaningful talk with a unique basic experience in private group of up to 10 people. Enjoy scrolling at the scholarly Kami · Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Japan’s oldest Geisha district · Kamishichiken.

HARUYA are waiting for your return with a ‘seasonal rice’ that is compatible with the Japanese sweets you take home at a 100-year-old Machiya, Japanese traditional wooden architecture. Please enjoy “seasonal rice” together with Japan’s rich seasonal blessings such as “Nanakusa porridge”, “Azuki porridge”, “Bamboo shoot rice” and “Bean rice”, which is Japanese staple foods.
