On May 1st every year, KENHYO-SAI festival, which means the ice festival in Japanese lauguege, holds in Nara city. In 710, about 1300 years ago, Nara city had freezer at the current location of Himuro Shrine. We wish you be familiar with SHINTO philosophy, every single wood, grass, and ice are respected as KAMI.
