A fireworks party, a lantern light wraps the city of Nara

In a representative area of Nara, Kofukuji, Todaiji, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and Nara Park, walking distance from over 120 years architecture “HARUYA Naramachi”, the “Toukae” festival is held from August 5th to 14th. On the 14th of the last day and the 15th of the following day, “Mantoro” festival is held on the Kasuga Taisha Shrine. On the 15th, a window in front of the face of the Great Buddha at Todaiji Temple is opened, and around 2,500 lanterns are lined up around the Great Buddha Hall. The night of the “Obon” period in Nara is filled with prayer lights.

Walk around the corridor on the vast site including three lighted up World Heritage sites (Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine) and Nara Park.

On the 14th of the last day and the 15th of the following day, a fire is lit on the Kasuga Taisha Shrine. On the 15th, the window in front of the face of the Great Buddha will be opened, and around 2,500 lanterns will be lined up around the Great Buddha Hall.
