Weeding section of How to make “HARUYA Morning Porridge”.

We met a small tadpole in the HARUYA own pesticide-free rice fields in fresh green leaves of early summer. In order to improve the growth of rice, weeding that takes place 10 days after rooting. About every 10th day, we will weed three or four times until harvest.

With our slogan “Link the past, present and the future”, we will deliver the “good things” of Japan that live in a 100-year-old classic architecture.  We are starting to make rice of “HARUYA Morning Porridge” with no pesticide cultivation from seeds in HARUYA own rice fields.

The harvested rice is served now in [HARUYA Umekoji], where 4 different tastes of Japanese classic architecture are adjacent to each other. Also, we are making preparations for [HARUYA Higashiyama] in the walking area to Kiyomizu Temple and Gion, and [HARUYA Naramachi] in Nara prefecture.

Hope the guest could be familiar with Japanese culture through the Japanese staple food “rice”.

HARUYA Umekoji

4 different tastes of 100 years architecture, [HARUYA Umekoji] is. 8 minutes by bus (15 minutes walk) from Kyoto station. Walking distance to two world heritage sites (Toji, Nishihonganji). One way bus stop to Kiyomizu Temple, Gion, Kinkakuji etc. Long-established Kyoto style such as Japanese garden, lattice, round window, edge side are respectfully inherited.
